Program Manager (exempt- salaried)

Title: Program Manager
Designation: Exempt benefited Employee; salaried, compensated bi-weekly
Responsible to: Program Manager Director
Supervises: Direct Support Professionals, Adult Foster Care Providers, Respite Providers
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree and a minimum of two years in Human Services or related field

Requirements:

  1. Commitment to skill development, independent living, and full community participation for all citizens.
  2. Proven time management skills; demonstrated capacity to prioritize tasks.
  3. Professional deportment, history of successful supervision of others.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Successful completion of identified training (including but not limited to):
    a. Community Alternatives to Restrictive Environments;
    b. Certified Registered Medication Assistant (CRMA);
    c. Direct Service Professional (DSP);
    d. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training; and
    e. Intrusive Behavior Plan Training (if applicable).
  6. A valid Drivers License, working automobile, and proof of Insurance;
  7. A working cell phone.

Definition and Purposes:

The Program Manager serves as the visible extension of the Agency Executive Management Team. Responsible for the clinical, programmatic, and professional supervision for designated individual, residences, and staff teams tasks vary for staff training, evaluation, payroll coordination to individual Person Centered Planning facilitation, advocacy and crisis consultation, incident debriefing. The Program Manager may carry a case load of as many as eight (9) individuals across six (6) homes.

Specific Duties:

  1. Exemplify Granite Bay Care’s Mission, Vision, and Values; providing opportunities for individual choice and decision-making, enhancing community participation while fostering community relationships.
  2. Conduct all duties in a manner, which ensures the respect and dignity of the individual, taking into consideration individual choice; actively encouraging exercise of choice-making by individuals.
  3. Carry out all duties in a manner which demonstrates an awareness of and respect for each individual’s legal, civil and human rights, which includes maintaining consumer confidentiality.
  4. Serve as a role model to all staff demonstrating how choices should be rendered to individuals. Maintain upbeat, positive attitude; professional conduct and boundaries are required at all times.
  5. Provide case management responsibilities for assigned individuals, maintaining individual records according to state regulations; provide instruction to assigned staff with respect to the implementation of Person Centered Plans. Monitor implementation of Intrusive Behavioral Plans.
  6. Ensure and monitor maximum safety conditions at all times within individual work environment.
  7. Assist Program Director in training new employees and subcontractors. Assist Program Director with monitoring of daily staff performance in relation to the management of the individual’s work schedules.
  8. Work closely with the Program Director in program budgeting, and the establishment of program goals and objectives.
  9. Ensure effective communication with GBC staff, family members, guardian, individual support coordinator, and any other individuals and agencies involved with the individual.
  10. Direct assigned program employees through the organization of program operations. Ensure that program schedules are followed and daily and monthly data is documented in accordance with Individual Service Plans. Prepare, review Monthly Reporting submissions; facilitate quality assurance.
  11. Know the status of the assigned individuals at all times. Monitor with Program Director all individual's progress within assigned work areas. Cover assigned supported work sites as necessary. Provide the necessary transportation for the individuals to access community resources using personal vehicle.
  12. Observe individual’s performance and assist individuals as necessary to improve their work performance, work habits and attitude, including but not limited to implementing various behavioral programs as developed by the behavioral consultant, supportive vocational counseling, and compliance with court mandated activities (e.g. bail, probation, parole conditions).
  13. After-hours, On-Call Emergency Coverage on a rotational basis, providing on-site crisis coordination as a liaison between On-Call Director and crisis scene.
  14. Document Reportable Events for assigned individuals, gathering support documentation for internal review. Document staff performance issues as needed/directed through designated means/methods.
  15. Requisition and maintain all necessary materials and equipment through the Program Director. Keep regular inventory of all physical property within the appropriate area and report this to the Program Director on a quarterly basis.
  16. Work closely with the Program Director in the implementation of appropriate curriculum development where applicable; program development and employee orientations.
  17. Participate in various groups/committees as assigned by the Program Director.
  18. Perform Program Director responsibilities as assigned in the absence of the Program Director.
  19. Listen carefully to individual.
  20. Other duties as assigned.
